Why are there gadgets?

So I added a few gadgets down the side of my blog site. Why you ask? well I know that they are not things I have done but they are things that I get inspired by. Vintage ads, the beauty of Norman Rockwell, and of course images of Scotland. These are things which can be watched and draw ideas from. Enjoy them

Here is one ad I did which I feel is a fantastic use of white space. Just imagine this on the page of a paper, all that text and then nice large white space.

So as everyone has a Business card......

Here is the overall look of my card minus personal details. I have to say that I am greatly influenced by critter characters, Snap, Crackle, Pop, Charlie the Tuna, Green Giant, and most of all Tony the Tiger. So I tried to make my name into a critter, I call him angry Milne.

So who created Critters? the term was coined by Leo Burnett. Leo Brunett created Tony the Tiger and Thrul Ravencroft gave him voice. Interesting side note Thrul did the voice of the Grinch in the christmas special, and like half of the voices for animatronics at Disney.

CKDJ 4

So here are four ads that I did for CKDJ, one of our campus radio stations at Algonquin college. I'm quite fond of the tag lines on this ad in the post, felt it really matches the picture.

I did a color mask on this one and brought in the red it was a all blue image to start. On the others the 1st and 2nd, are ones where in Illustrator I designed the funky frame work. considering it was my first time with this program I am quite happy with the results.

First Photo shoot

So this was an assignment where we had to do a viral ad campaign which could be easily adapted to anywhere. What I feel is the most important part of this ad is that I did the photo as well. location, cloths, and body position all set by me. Oh and on a side note that's me as the "model".

First published

So here is a jpg of my first published ad. It was done for the Student association at Algonquin college. Basically promoting people to log on the S.A. web site for available student accommodations. Body copy is all mine, and I did a little to the picture, I stretched it and B&W it.
